Hezekiah, the son of Ahaz from the Genealogy of Jesus in the Gospel after Matthew, from Matthew 1:9 commented by ASV and questions

Sons and daughters of God

Hezekiah maybe the Godliest king in the history of Israel, however son of maybe the worst king in the history of Israel, Ahaz. You don’t inherit badness or goodness, it is not in your genes. Sons and daughters of God, YHWH, by His son Jesus Christ or Jesus the anointed one that’s who you are. You should be proud and big enough to forgive anyone who has done you wrong. You don’t have to answer back or retaliate, the mighty God is your father.

And healed the people

Hezekiah a king after God’s standards. He cleansed the land for foreign worship and all strange tradition and introduced Godly worship in Jerusalem according to the words of Moses like king David did. He invited all Israel to come and worship in Jerusalem. Music, hymns sounded 24/7 in and around the temple, The Spirit of God impacted the city and the land. King Hezekiah, a man of God, however also a man of his people. When sacrificing in abundance accompanied by the instruments of king David, Hezekiah prayed to God asking Him to forgive all who did seek their God with a whole heart, and God listen to king Hezekiah and healed the people

Sennacherib the Assyrian king

The Bible is a big and complex book, “written” by God using His Spirit through the godly prophets. The Bible is the word of God, no human could construct it, no committee or presidents could accomplish it, the Book, the Words of God is linked together like the human body, a building of perfection, we need every word in it to grasp the will and love of God. We can see this in the section where Sennacherib the Assyrian king invaded Israel and Judah, besieged Jerusalem and sent his officials to intimidate the inhabitants and the king Hezekiah.

Comparing Him

Sennacherib scared the king and his people, the Assyrian king had attacked and conquered all the surrounding countries and killed their leaders, Hezekiah had nowhere to turn, there where no help to be found. Sennacherib sent a letter to Hezekiah where he threatened him and his people, however made a huge mistake by taunting the living God comparing Him with all the other gods he had defeated.

Stop existing

Hezekiah went into the temple and, spread out the letter from the Assyrian king and prayed to God for help. He sent messengers to the prophet Isaiah asking for the words of God in the matter. Through the prophet God answered and explained the complex situation for both Hezekiah and Sennacherib, God is a fair God and combines the past, the present and the future to perfection. Earlier in His word God had prophesied about Israel and Judah being taken captive and abducted to another country, no good king like Hezekiah could stop this from happening, only postpone it, God is faithful to his word, if not the universe would stop existing. Sennacherib the king of Assyria had devastated Israel and a part of Judah according to God’s prophesy and plan, however now Sennacherib went beyond his authority and compared God to wood and stone.

Don’t mess with him

God listened to Hezekiah’s prayer and sent an angel, only one, and he killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers and when Sennacherib woke up that morning, most of his army lay dead on the ground. He left Judah and went back to Nineveh his hometown the capital of Assyria, there two of his sons killed him. God is the father of Jesus and loves us, giving his only son to die in our place on a wooden cross. God is love; however, you don’t mess with Him. Hezekiah, a good and godly king on the line to Jesus.
