John baptizes Jesus, after Matthew 3:13-17 commented by ASV and questions

Permit me, the kingdom of God;

“For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

Ability to sin

God had a plan for saving mankind, for them to take back the authority man lost to the devil. The only way was to become man on earth and stay away from sin that made the devil exploit it to govern the earth. God on earth was not borne God; He was born man with God’s protection through men and women. Jesus did not have The Holy Spirit when He was born like John had, He was born with a human spirit, however untouched by sin, He was born good with the ability to sin and turn evil.

Cursed

John grew up in the wilderness driven by The Holy Spirit, He had no free “will” his life was lined up and he just followed the line ending up baptizing Jesus. With Jesus it was different, He knew what to do through the Words, the scripture, actually Himself, however He had a free will, He could have deviated from it, but now the baptizing by John was next. John baptized in water to repentance, however, Jesus had nothing to repent though He was under the law and did what He did because of the law which lead Him to be cursed according to Paul.

Because of Jesus’ obedience

What Jesus did is characterized by His knowledge of the truth and His absolute obedience through faith. Now John baptized Jesus like he had done hundreds of times with others, however this time something strange happened, a dove came down from heaven and stayed on Jesus and a voice was heard from above stating that this man was God’s Son and God delighted in Him and was well pleased with Him, why. Because of Jesus’ obedience in His life leading up to the baptizing by John, and now decided to do it.

Ready

Jesus was not filled with God’s Spirit, however, now was the time, and God baptized Jesus through John and The Son of God was submerged in The Holy Spirit and fire. People on the bank of the river Jordan saw it and knew this was the “superman” they had been waiting for. However, to John it was just a verification, he knew that Jesus was the Messiah. Now God had prepared Jesus to be led into the dessert facing the devil.
