The spiritual taxi, Matthew 4:12-17.

Singular or plural

John prepared the way for Jesus and when He was baptized John’s work was done. And when John sometime later was put in prison Jesus knew that the scene was His and He stepped forward. Went to Galilee, his home area and told people there the “Good news” the Gospel, the fulfillment of Old testament prophesies and He settled down in Capernaum by the Sea of Galilee. His message was simple, the same as John said, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  This kingdom could well be translated as the kingdom of heavens, meaning more than one heaven, sometime the translators use singular, heaven, sometime plural, heavens.

No taxi

However, what did Jesus mean by the Greek word “οὐρανός” transliterated: ouranos. I think to understand this we must consider Jesus past, as God the Son in the spiritual heaven with His Father God. Jesus knew the spiritual realm when He was God and ruled there together with his Father and The Holy Spirit. However now he lived on earth a planet in the universe. And I find it natural that Jesus referred to both the spiritual heaven and the universe where He now lived. What Jesus told people was that the Spiritual now had visited earth and that this spiritual was available, like a spiritual taxi. “People the heavenly taxi has arrived, just enter.” To enter this taxi, you need to pay in advance and the money is “to repent” no repentance no taxi.

The taxi takes off

So, what about this kingdom, which is available, Paul told his churches that this was as a secret which had been hidden for thousands of years, however, now was revealed by The Holy Spirit. We find this in Colossians 1:26-27 kjv, “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” This kingdom is both spiritual and physical, the taxi takes off when you decide to give your life over to Jesus, which can be done in different ways.

The Word of faith

One key we find in Romans 10:8-13 “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Faith

Once I met two people in a dark room who prayed this prayer from Romans 10:9, “Jesus come into my life and be my Lord I know I am a sinner” One of them said, well now we’ll wait and see what happens, the other one said nothing, one of them was left on the platform, the other one took off with the taxi. With the mouth we pray, that is physical, however with the heart we believe and that is spiritual and makes faith. Faith is a result of both the physical and the spiritual.

Repent

Let’s follow the one within the taxi, now comes the difficult part in this world, more difficult than in the times of Jesus, where you more or less had no choice given the dangerous surroundings, the Romans and the Pharisees and Sanhedrin, people suffered and were crucified for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now in 2020 we have all kind of solutions, mostly from media, that’s why Jesus said “repent”.

I am with you

What is repent, is it saying “I regret being a sinner” no, to repent is something else. The taxi driver stops the car and says here is the gate just enter, you found it. Happily, the person leaves the taxi and enter the strait gate and find himself on a very narrow road with a lot of tempted take offs. However, the silent voice is there and says just follow me I am with you son/daughter, straight forward.

What you are mindful of you do

On this road, without repenting you have no chance towards the devil, he will quickly lead you off the narrow road into this world and towards trouble and death. Why is that? The reason is because you take the wrong decisions, you take left when you should go straight. So, what is the problem? it is what we said earlier, the repentance. You need to focus on God and his Words all the time, filling your brain only with the Bible. But this is indoctrination? yes, it is, you need to be indoctrinated by the Words that proceeds from the mouth of God, in other words, by Jesus. If not, you are indoctrinated by this world through TV, through media, so called friends, medics, all kind of offers, and so on. If you want to stay on the narrow road you must be “narrow minded” The golden rule is, “what you are mindful of you do”

The hope of glory

Jesus tells you to repent because the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. In this Kingdom you will find peace and little by little gain strength, not being led by feelings or sensations, hearing the still voice of The Holy Spirit as a heavenly light on this narrow road, to stay on it to the hope of glory, Jesus in you. Is this easy, no it is not, and few are those who find it, however it is the only way out of this prison. Prison, what prison? Jesus says that if you do sin you are in the prison of sin, and in this prison, you die, and you go somewhere you don’t want to go. There is only on key and his name is Jesus.
